
It’s like a cooler, more chill version of tennis. It’s a fairly young sport, first created in Mexico in 1969 and then becoming an official sport in Spain in the 70s. Its popularity quickly grew around the world and it made its way to Asia in 2013, first to Japan. In Singapore, the first padel court was built in 2021, located on the rooftop of Marina Square. Domenech predicts that Singapore will have at least 40 padel courts by next year.
